Editorial and corrections policy

Our approach to practical guidance, factual listings and corrections.

Source-led information

We prefer the organisation responsible for a record: HMCTS for court details, the SRA for firm registration, the Legal Aid Agency for its provider directory and Police.uk for published local crime records. We link to those sources so readers can check the detail.

Clear limits

Guides explain practical starting points. They do not offer case-specific advice, promise a result or claim that a provider is suitable for every reader. Guidance shows the date its sources were checked. Court instructions and the current official source take priority.

No paid ranking

The current directory does not sell listing positions, accept paid reviews or use ratings to rank providers. Name and distance are the main ordering methods. Source-based coverage is not a guarantee that every relevant provider is included.

Corrections

Send the page URL, a description of the issue and an official supporting link through our contact form. We assess corrections against the source. Source errors may need to be corrected by the publishing organisation before they can be resolved consistently in future imports.

Do not send confidential case files or personal allegations. We do not publish submissions automatically.
