Read the joining instructions

Use the instructions sent by your court or tribunal. Check the hearing time, joining method and any documents you need. If the link, number or instructions are missing, contact the court in advance using the details on your notice.

Prepare your space and equipment

  • Choose a quiet, private place where you can hear and be heard.
  • Check your device, connection, microphone and camera before the hearing.
  • Keep your charger and relevant documents within reach.
  • Tell the court in advance if you need support to take part.

During the hearing

Follow the court’s directions on joining, speaking and using your microphone. Do not make your own recording or take screenshots without permission.

If you lose the connection or cannot hear, follow the technical-help instructions supplied with the invitation. Let the court know promptly rather than assuming your absence has been noticed.
