What N244 is used for
N244 is an application notice used to ask a civil court to make an order in proceedings. The official guidance explains the fields, including the order requested, hearing information and supporting evidence.
Prepare before you start
- Your case number and the court dealing with the proceedings.
- The parties' details and the application you wish to make.
- Any relevant order, hearing notice or directions.
- The evidence and draft order required by the official guidance or court directions.
Which fee applies?
There is no single N244 fee for every use. Civil applications on notice, by consent or without notice can have different fees, and some specific applications use a separate fee. Check the description in EX50 and confirm the correct fee with the court.

Filing an application does not itself guarantee the order requested or change an existing deadline. Obtain advice on the appropriate application, notice and evidence if you are unsure.
